May 29th - Beer Nuts Happy Hour at Lion Bridge Sign-up

Post by daryl »

The club will host another Beer Nuts Happy Hour at Lion Bridge on Sunday, May 29th.

We will be pouring from 3 PM to 5 PM.

What is needed:

1) Volunteer workers; 2 minimum, but 3-4 would be good

2) Beer contributions; in bottles and/or growlers; kegs are acceptable but you will need to bring everything you need to dispense from your keg/kegs - LB can provide with some ice and a tub or two to hold the bottles/growlers. We will pour for two hours, and in 2 oz samples; so we will not need tons of beer, but it is nice to have 4-6+ varieties that we could offer. And, if you like, we can go past 5 PM, but that will be up to the volunteers and I would cut it off no later than 5:30 or 6:00 PM - it is up to you.

You can volunteer to pour and not contribute beer; you can contribute beer and not attend (but please provide us with a description of your beer and/or recipe and any other information you think someone would be interested in knowing about your beer).

Please respond to this post, to volunteer your time and/or beer.

Let's meet at LB around 2:30 PM to set-up and be ready to go at 3 PM.

It has been suggested, and I agree, that one way to improve your brewing skills is to seek every opportunity that you can to pour and share your work with others. This one of those opportunities provided by your club and you will have at least one opportunity each month, to do so.

And remember, bringing beer and pouring at this April event will enter you in the year-end drawing for a $50 gift certificate from BIY.

As always, don't be shy to PM me with questions/concerns/suggestions.

Cheers,
Daryl

I should have some of my English Pale Ale left from Benz that I can pour. So, count me in.

I may have three partial mini-kegs of braggot to deal with.

I'll personally deal with those mini-kegs of braggot if I was given a chance...

I can supply a growler of the English IPA I had at the fest.

I have a low-ish abv (4%) English bitter that I kegged today. It'll be ready by then. However, it's similar to two of the other beers offered, so you won't hurt my feelings of you say no, haha.

Actually, sounds like a theme is organically coming together - English style beers.

I'd be happy to bring a growler if an IPA I have.

We might have 7-brewers pouring this afternoon.

And that's good, because in addition to the normal traffic, LB is hosting a party of 30 at about the same time...should be a party.

Feel free to come down and enjoy some samples and share in the fun.

Given the number of brewers we have, one should suffice.

Thanks,
Daryl

I thought we had a really good turn-out for the Happy Hour, LB was doing a good business and a fair share of their customers visited us.

Thanks to Tony, Pat, Karl, Josh, Kurt, Derek and Andrew for bringing beers and braggots to share and other member who showed up to support the cause.

It was a lot of fun and we really played up the upcoming Recipe for Disaster pour event in June and handed out quite a few cards for our August event.

Attached is poster we used, taped them to the doors/walls (feel free to suggest improvements)....but on these warm bicycling days, it would be nice to have a folding sign near the bike path advertising the event. I am wondering if Free Beer wouldn't help the traffic flow through LB?

Don't forget Pat, who brought the tasty braggots!

Yes, it was a fun afternoon and some good traffic. Hoping that we're getting some traction with the event.
