Baltic Porter Judging - Tuesday, Nov 15th - Call for Judges
Baltic Porter Judging - Tuesday, Nov 15th - Call for Judges
This is the call for judges, to judge the submissions for the Baltic Porter competition.
Location is TBD but will be either Another Road Tap Room in Marion or the Iowa Brewing Company - both are friendly for bottle-sharing.
The date is Tuesday Nov. 15, we will start at 7 PM.
We can get by with 4-judges, but six is much better. It is good to have a steward or two as well.
Please post if you can judge on one or both of these dates.
ALSO - I plan to conduct an impromptu Tech Meeting on Judging on Sunday evening, location TBD.....we need more judges to have the Competitions go smoothly, fairly, and in a timely manner. It's fun and not hard....and you will improve with practice. So do not be afraid of jumping in with both feet.

Any calibration beer? I had a "Baltic Porter" at another road last week, but it tasted more like "imperial nondescript Porter", whereas i have had others that that were quite interesting in the 'dark fruit' flavors and aromas.

Oja from Iowa Brewing is a pretty solid example.

I have not tried this beer to see if a good example of a Baltic Porter, but Millstream recently released Blitzen Baltic Porter if looking for more commercial examples.
