The club will host another Beer Nuts Happy Hour at Lion Bridge on Sunday, June 25th.

We will be pouring from 3 PM to 5 PM (or 6+ ish).

The Club will provide the sampling glasses; you will need to bring everything you need to pour, including ice.

Let's meet at LB around 2:30 PM to get organized and to make sure we will be ready to go at 3 PM.

This month's Happy Hour is the tasting event for the 2017 Wort Rally and will also serve as our Turn-In event....

1st Round of Judging
As with the quarterly competitions, turn in two containers of each entry (can be bottles or cans, a minimum of 12 oz each); each entry needs to have a filled out competition tag with the following information:
Name
Name of Beer
Category
Sub-Category

There may be upwards for 40-50 entries (80-100 bottles/cans); this will be challenging, and may take a couple of weeks, but we'll get it done! Until they are judged, entries will be stored at cellar temperatures until the evening of their judging; before which, they will be chilled for 24 hours.

We will post the results on the Forum as soon as we can.

2nd Round of Judging
We are still working out the details of sorting out candidates, to potentially be submitted for the ProAm competition at the Great American Beer Festival. We are still sorting out the details to see how or if we can make this happen.

We plan to use the first round of judging to sort out entries to be judged by a BJCP qualified panel of judges.

If your entry makes the cut, you will be requested to submit another two samples for judging. Therefore, you might want to pull four bottles this week, just in case your beer is selected for the second round.

Our biggest challenge is timing....entries for the Pro Am begins in June and is limited to 116 entries. The competition itself is in October.

She was a sweety. I can't believe he left her in there. Almost broke my heart to leave her when I picked up the tap box.

Thanks to our brewers who attended yesterday's Wort Rally Tasting Event - the beers were really good - I received many positive comments on the quality of your work and for this event in general. Thanks again for all of your good work and for sharing homebrew with our community at large.

The people have spoken and the People's Favorites are:
1st - Randy Carris - Blood Orange Blond
2nd - Lee Paulsen - Tropical Milk Shake
3rd - Tony Browning - Down Goze Frasier

Thanks to Travis Kasper for single-handedly greeting each an everyone of our patrons with a tasting glass and a ballot; he took in 55 ballots, and handed out quite a few more than that.

Next comes the challenge of judging.....

I will try to go through the beer entries this evening and see how I can split up the judging and try to pull together a plan. Until then, all beers are being stored in my cellar at cellar temperatures and in the dark.

I will do my best to try to get this first round of judging completed before the Imperial Stout turn-in next month. If I can get enough brewers to judge, we should be able to crank this out.

Quick question for the group: Somebody (I think Brandon?) was there yesterday and had a paintball tank set-up. I was wondering where one would go to get those filled? I know Hawkeye will fill our usual tanks, but what about the paintball sized ones? The wife loves to make sparkling water with my handheld charger, but I can foresee the small cartridges getting expensive fast.
