Appealing to Wine Makers

This was discussed some at Thursday's meeting. It needs some discussion.
1) Is it something we are interested in?
2) Pat McCusker mentioned he has contact info for local wine makers who are no longer organized. If your answer to question 1 was yes, is it cool if he contacts them?
3) If your answers to 1 and 2 were yes, do we want to try and get them to the October meeting?
November meetings is elections, December meeting is Holiday Party. Do we try to get them to October meeting, or wait until January?

Peansky for all cabinet positions!

1) Yes. I firmly believe in equality of all fermentations.
2) Yes.
3) Yeah, I think October would be good. Get them in, interested, and thinking about it through the winter. We can also start inviting them to the LionBridge Happy Hour too.

"My name is Josh Peanasky, and I don't approve Mark's message."

Could be a nice addition to some of our other activities....

Pros
Tech Meetings; they could be beer-related or wine-related and might attract different followings.
Festival; would need to coordinate with Benz, but the addition of wine I know would take down barriers that some have to attending our beer festival.
Christmas Party; most of our significant others would appreciate the variety (beyond beer).

Cons
Not a con really, we might have to review and change some of our Bylaws, or maybe not. Membership is open to all who are interested in making and/or enjoying craft beer. I can imagine that most vintners and mazers have some level of interest in homebrew craft beer.

Agree to all, most wine making equipment and homebrew equipment are interchangeable so converting a wine maker to homebrewer and vise versa is an easy transition, wine making is fun and should be explored

This could be an interesting addition. I occasionally make kit wines and interested in going a bit further.
