First night Brew
Hit all my numbers and feeling pretty good about it, took awhile to get the system and my technique dialed in, my brother wanted me to brew something for him so he bought half of the ingredients and gets to keep half the beer but the plus side is that I get to keep and reuse the yeast, considering it's wlp029 kolsch I consider that a win. looking forward to seeing how this turns out it's a Spotted Cow clone, but really looking forward to reusing the yeast at a later time and adding fruit for the first time ever to a new Brew

Cool! I'm definitely interested in how a Spotted Cow clone turns out.

Re: First night Brew
Bottled this Brew yesterday turned out tasting really good even though it's not carbonated yet but it'll be ready just in time for the tasting at the end of month and the Muddy Waters competition I also racked one gallon of it off of primary onto half pound of black button raspberries never done a fruit beer before wanted to experiment and if it's a flop it's only 1 gallon

Re: First night Brew
I'll have to check Wednesday night to see if it's carbed up enough I only just bottled that Saturday I have had beers in the past condition within a week but time will tell.
Re: First night Brew
Bring it regardless. If it's under carb'ed, no biggie.

Will do Tony, what is a good amount to bring for the meeting or what's the norm?

between 0 and 90oz seems common. Or a bottle. whatever ya wantSchwerkraftbrauer wrote:Will do Tony, what is a good amount to bring for the meeting or what's the norm?
Re: First night Brew
If you have a batch that went south and you would like some feedback for your fellow brewers for assistance, you will only need one 12 oz bottle to accomplish that.Schwerkraftbrauer wrote:Will do Tony, what is a good amount to bring for the meeting or what's the norm?
We will have anywhere from 15-30 attendees (including guests). And not everyone samples, which leaves more for the rest of us that do!!
You'd be safe with 1 or 2 12oz bottles or bombers....or a crowler. Some will bring more, because their brew will be popular....or they want to get on with emptying a keg and just bring more to share; either way, it is always appreciated.
In the Fridge/On Tap: English Bitter, Schwarzbier, Cream Ale
In the keg: Wheat Beer, Russian Imperial Stout
In the bucket:
In the queue: Irish Red, American IPA

Re: First night Brew
Although I am delighted with the clarity the complete lack of head and foam has me worried hopefully that something that comes around the more it carbs up
