New Club Name

Post by carrisr »

The club has voted to change our name to Cedar Rapids Brewing Society. We've got a lot of things that will need to be updated in the near future, including this forum. Please be patient with us during this transition as there may be some bumps in the road.
Thanks!

Has there been any discussion about who use for a new logo/design? I have a name to pass along. The same guy who has designed the last two beer glasses for the Iowa Craft Beer Crew does a nice job. I worked with him on a logo for my home brewery. I’d be happy to hook him up with a club representative, or volunteer myself for the task.

We are looking for someone to help develop a new logo. Lets talk soon about it. Would like to get figured out at next cabinet meeting in early March.

Very good. This guy is a craft beer lover and designer, so he might fit the bill well.

Does the agreement with Beer Nuts company cover logo design?

More specifically, are we able to use a red bottlecap to retain some level of recognition, or are we required to completely abandon everything?

Personally, I think we should abandon the bottle cap and all, start from scratch and look at some new designs. A fresh look to go with the new name. Or at least toss around some ideas.

Only thing we have to abandon is use of the phrase "Beer Nuts" and "Good Times Great Beer". They own trademarks on those words. Bottle cap not an issue. I would like new design. Old design was thrown together on short notice by former President Travis and he only expected it to be temporary. Lol

I am not crazy concerned about people connecting dots to old logo. We should be able to make that happen easy enough.

I am interested in Josh's suggestion, if the price is right.

I'm up for something new.

I've asked the guy who did my logo to take a gander at it. Sean Webber.

Any feedback from Sean? Should the Cabinet reach out to him to discuss cost, format, etc.?

As usual, I had my brilliant idea after it was too late. Cedar Rapids Society of Brewers, the CR SOBs. I suppose we can still use it when some other Brewing Society sends us a Cease and Desist.

Kewl. It kinda follows some ideas I had. Like the mash paddle.

Any chance I could get a high res copy to print a t-shirt to wear in Portland?
