Was at Beck's this past weekend, talked with the manager if we could conduct membership meetings there in the future.
Heard on the radio this AM that Beck's was closed.....the construction on Collins Road certainly did not help their business. http://krna.com/local-bar-grill-taps-ou ... ar-rapids/
So at the mere suggestion of CRBS meeting there....another pub goes down.
Did not get a chance to try their food, but their Pour Your Own was an interesting concept.

Too bad they closed. Had a really good tenderloin and they had Lark Brewing “Boing” on tap. I wonder if it was what I’m sure is ludicrously high rent that was the main factor in closing. Too many mall entrances for construction to be much of an issue I’d think. Pretty shitty that Barmuda didn’t have the decency to notify their employees they were closing, heard they were told the morning of.

I've had the food several times and thought it was excellent as well as a service. The only concept I did not quite grasp, probably cuz it was just new to me, was buying beer by the ounce.

Bummer - another one bites the dust!
Only went there a few times, but food was decent and I liked the "pour you own" beer wall. You could sample (by the ounce) and if you liked it, fill'er up!
Construction everywhere is insane right now, not just on Collins Rd by the mall. It's practically impossible to get to the downtown public library right now, as every bloody street around it is closed off for construction!!

They have lots of issues. I personally hate the pour your own concept. Flopped at 1st Ave Ale House or whatever it was too. I like a bartender pouring my beer.
