Homebrew Swap Meet - Sunday, Nov. 28 at Lion Bridge
Just wanted to let the membership know that we organizing a Homebrew Swap Meet for late October.
It will be on a weekend.
It will likely be held at a brewery.
I plan to notify the homebrew clubs in Eastern Iowa and all of those that participated, or were invited to, our Beer Festival.
Details to follow....
BUT, to make it a success, we will need folks to go through their equipment and bring your used, but lightly used home brew equipment to trade or sell. Keep it mind, begin going through your stuff and ID what you no longer need.
We will secure a date and location next week.

Re: Homebrew Swap Meet
The CRBS will hold its very first Homebrew Swap Meet at the October Happy Hour at Lion Bridge, Sunday, October 28; it will run from 3 PM to 5 PM (or so...maybe 6 PM).
We will setup on the patio (the upper, if the lower one is seating customers - both if no customers are outside), rain or shine.
So bring your used but serviceable brewing equipment that you not longer use, to sell or trade.
Travis, let's think about setting up the Happy Hour pouring station(s?) outside on the patio. We just cannot have beers out in the parking lot.
Bring your own table or tarp to set out your stuff.
Cheers,
D

Re: Homebrew Swap Meet
Bumping this up to the top.....
Clean out your closets and browse through your breweries and locate that used, but gently used homebrew equipment that you no long use.
And then bring your equipment down to Lion Bridge this coming Sunday, October 28 beginning at 3 PM for some swapping, horse trading, selling, buying...etc., etc., etc.
And if you need equipment, come down and see what is available....
IN FACT....why not post here, something you are looking for.....maybe some kegs, or better bottles, etc......POST YOUR NEEDS HERE, and just maybe someone will respond and you can meet up over a homebrew sample this coming Sunday.

If you are coming with stuff....you can provide some tease by listing what you are bringing here, in a post.
I plan on bringing:
Clean beer bottles, all labels and glue have been removed
Clean Champagne bottles, green, all labels and glue have been removed, these bottles will take bottle caps
One or two copper coils for chilling down wort
Old beer tap equipment (i.e. hand pump, spout, etc.)
Maybe some buckets
Still need to go through the boxed to see what else I might bring.

I'll take all the beer bottles and one of the copper coils. Message me with the price.daryl wrote:If you are coming with stuff....you can provide some tease by listing what you are bringing here, in a post.

I am a "maybe" for Sunday. I am in the middle of a big landscaping project. If things go well tomorrow, I may come and pour on Sunday. Worst case, I can get down there about 5 pm to pick up stuff.

I'm bringing a 6 gallon Better Bottle - new, still sealed in the box.
Also, my Tap-a-Draft system. I haven't used in it in years. Great, easy way to transition out of bottling. I have 8 PET bottles, 2 dispenser units, and some spare parts.
Not sure about beers to bring for Happy Hour. Tired of pouring the gruit, even though I still have several gallons of it left.

I’m looking for 2.5 or 3 gal kegs and 1-3 gallon fermentation vessels. Might be willing to part with my boil keggle with weldless fittings all around if anyone is interested. Also have a bunch of clean 12oz beer bottles I would like to get rid of

That was a great event. I swapped an bought some stuff and had a good time chatting with other brewers.
This would be a good event to repeat in a couple of years.
Items I have left are a Listetmann Counterphiller counter-pressure bottle filler and a single-tap stai less-steel tap tower for a kegerator. Either or both are free to a member who can use them.

It's yours. It needs some new tubing and I have a new check valve for it too.
