Hi everyone. As I have stated in some meetings recently I will not be running for re-election as your president in 2020. Due to a recent job change that has me in Des Moines 2 days per week, and increasing activities with my four kids, I think it is in the club's best interest we find new leadership. I have been unable to attend most club meetings and cabinet meetings as well over the last few months. I still plan to participate in club stuff as I have time.

It has been my pleasure to represent the club as President the last 3 years. I had planned to do so for at least a few more. We have a great group in the cabinet and lots of good people in the club. I am certain we will elect some good people to continue to serve the club going forward. I will still see you at club activities when I can. I am still brewing and plan to be pouring beers at meetings whenever I can. See you out there. Stay hoppy my friends.

Thank you Matt for your efforts as President. We are sure to miss you.

And, having served as Secretary for the past three years, I am looking make a change and step up to the office of Vice President. Looking to the future, the role is of interest to me as I can be more involved with maintaining and upgrading the club's equipment and in assisting in the Festival Coordinator.

I'm Karl and I approve of this message.

Currently the CRBS board consists of 7 roles: President, VP, Secretary, Treasurer, Activities Director, Social Media, and Drink Local Fest Organizer. We have annual terms for each of these roles, so they are all up for election. We highly encourage new faces to be involved on the board. If you'd like to help see our club continue to thrive in the future, your involvement is critical. Most of these roles only require a few hours per month so don't be intimidated or worried that you don't have enough time. If you have interest in a position, even if it's currently held, please step forward. Several of us are filling positions mainly because no one else stepped up, so we won't be offended if you'd like to seek a role.

As it stands right now the current President, VP, Fest Organizer, and Secretary have announced intentions to step down or run for different roles. If you are interested please declare your intent here. If you have questions please ask.

I will be running for Events Coordinator again, I’ve had a good time my first year on the cabinet and look foreword to another year.

If anybody is interested in running for any cabinet position but are unsure of what your tasks would be you can reach out to any of the current cabinet to get an idea of what you’d be doing. Like Randy said it’s not overly time consuming.

I will NOT be able to attend the November meeting as I will be on business travel AND I am willing to throw my hat in the ring for Secretary.

I will be stepping down from the quarterly Club competition. Travis has agreed to take it over for the time being until a Young Padawan present itself and wants to take it over.

I will be running for drink local Festival coordinator

I have been an active member of the Cedar Rapids Beer Nuts, and now the Cedar Rapids Brewing Society, for nearly six years. Over that period of time the Cabinet assigned to me the responsibility of organizing many of our current programs, including: the LBBC Wort Rally, the Bunged Competition, Homebrew Happy Hour, and our two AHA-sanctioned competitions. None of which would have been possible without your support and participation.
Through those experiences and my participation in our other activities (i.e. Grain Buy, Tech Meetings, Benz Beer Festival, Drink Local Festival, River’s Edge Festiv-Ale, and Brew B Q), I feel I am well positioned to serve as President and ask you consider voting for me at the November Membership Meeting.

My only campaign promise to you is, that if elected, I will work hard to continue the trend of innovating and delivering member-focused programming; and to deliver them to the simple standard set by our previous two Presidents. Which is.....“If it’s not fun, why are we doing it?”.

At this time, it would be appropriate for me to offer the customary bribe for your vote. But unfortunately, I spent the total of my Campaign War Chest at Lion Bridge!

Cheers,
Daryl

If no one wants to take over for Social Media I will continue. I could also be persuaded to run the comps.
