Like ships passing in the night. I was there on Tuesday (CSA event) and last night (Winterland). Plan is to be at the next CSA event on Tuesday for the Home Baked release.

It's that time again! 2021 Release is tomorrow (Wednesday, 6th). I plan to get there at the opening (3pm). I'm bringing cans of 2019 and 2020 Gazprom to do a side-by-side tasting. Probably won't stay too long though - maybe an hour or so.

Hope to see some of you there. Stay Safe!

Just cracked a can of 2019, glad I held onto it, it’s tasting great! How was the side by side of the 3 years?

I still think the 2019 was far too smoky. It hasn't diminished with age either. The 2020 is drinking nicely. The 2021 has good potential.

I cracked a can of 2020 to compare with 2021 too. I found them to be more alike than any other previous years. So much so that you could easily write off the small difference from aging.

I was bummed to find that LB was totally out of Gazprom on tap when I was there Saturday. Oh well.

Holy Crap! It didn't last 2 weeks. I would have thought that they made more than that, but maybe they dialed it back this year after having too much last year. BUT, there's Home Baked tomorrow!! I'll be there at 3pm with a can of last year's.

How well are these beers aging in cans?
Never thought about it much before...but I have to believe can technology has advanced to the point where aging in cans should be possible.

I've got last years double maple and it's fantastic, just had one last week. Igot quite a few cans of imp stouts in my fridge in the 1-2 year old range and they all hold up.

I think aging in cans is better. No issues with light and less O2 sneaking in.

I don’t have much long term results but the 2019 Gazprom has aged just fine for two years in a can. Also have a Revolution Deths Tar in a can from 2 years ago that was delicious. I will probably keep a can or two of the 2019 gazprom and the 2019 double maple for another year or two and see what happens. I agree with Matt and think it will be just fine.

I opened cans of 2019 and 2020 Home Baked yesterday at LBB to go along side the 2021 release. All 3 were very good and very similar.

BTW - Gazprom 2021 is back on tap at the brewery.
