Virtual meetup

I think it would be fun to have an online meetup/conference to catch up. I miss hanging out with everyone. So who's interested in doing that sometime this weekend?
What software or apps do people use? Scype has been around forever. I hear Zoom come up a lot. Others?

My coworkers and I are going to do this today. We will be using our work google hangouts app. I’d be up for doing something.

Zoom seems to work better than hangouts for 3-10 people meetings. from what I've seen.
Another option is to all stand 6 feet apart in the driveway after misting everclear over the shared bottles

I like this idea. I'd donate the 1/2 bottle of Everclear I have left!
We've used Zoom for our monthly Board of Director meetings for the non-profit I work with. It works really well. My only question is - do we have to wear pants?

The answer to that question is more of a metaphysical one. If a man makes sounds indicating that he wears pants on a teleconference, but no one sees them, did he really wear pants?
I guess strategic webcam aiming also matters.

Well I'm not sure that I care whether you wear pants or not? But I'm more curious as to what kind of sounds one would make to indicate they're wearing them!
I've been looking into options and it seems that Zoom is under a lot of fire for poor security and privacy issues. As a result, I don't trust them at the moment at least until they get their shit together.
I found an open source solution that I think will work nicely. It's called Jitsi Meet. It gives you the option to use their lightweight app on most platforms, but you can also just log in using a web browser (they prefer Chrome) and voice only by calling in. No one has to sign up for an account to use it which is a huge bonus in my opinion.
So when do you want to try this? Friday or Saturday evening? What time, 7ish?
Here's the link to Jitsi:
https://meet.jit.si/. There links to the phone apps there.
Once we agree to a time I'll post the session web link and phone number here.

My druthers would be Friday, as I have a Virtual Wine Tasting on Saturday evening with Popoli.
I use Microsoft Edge and jitsi says that they don't support it, only Chrome.

Let's shoot for Friday evening then. 7pm?
If you don't want to install Chrome, you can install the jitsi meet app on your phone and use that. Or you can call in for audio only.
I tried Firefox and while jitsi warns it won't work as well it seemed to be fine.
I'm probably going to use my phone or tablet rather than my desktop so I can move around. I'll probably make several trips to the fridge.
Here's an idea too that we can't do when we meet at public places: how about sharing tours of our brewing, kegging, and bars?

Also, if this seems to work OK maybe we can do it for our club meeting.

For those who maybe don't want to install the phone app: I just tested this with my Android phone using Chrome and turning on the "use desktop site" option. Seems to work.

I tested it with Firefox today and it worked fine.

I'm on my phone and it says that no one else is here?
