Seltzer carbonation

Post by Schwerkraftbrauer »

For those that make and/or mix seltzer from vodka water. What is your process to carbonate? What psi do you force at and what amount of time does it sit? What's your serving pressure set to?
Do I need a different regulator than my beer one that only goes from 0-45psi?

Thanks
Mixing vodka and water with flavoring if that makes any difference

I'm guessing you'll want it carbed highly - maybe 4 volumes (that's where I set virgin water, and it takes a solid week+ to fully carb. then I serve at 30 psi).
In the past, I'd take my fizzy water tap and mix with the vodka/flavor/sweetener at serving.

I'm currently fast-carbing my first from-scratch seltzer, but I presume it will need lots of CO2 also.
