Final Farewell

This will be my final 'official' post, at least for a while. I just wanted to let everyone know that it has been a pleasure being your president for the past few years and I've enjoyed getting to know everyone. I've made a lot of good friends and will miss sharing a beer with all of you. The club has come a long way and it is due to the hard work of all involved. I hope you continue to make contributions of time and ideas and I'm sure the club will continue to grow and get even better. I'd put our club up against any club in the country, at least for the people involved if not for the quality of the beer and the things we've done over the past few years.

I'm very encouraged with the new officers that will take the club into the future. I'm sure Travis will be a great president and the other officers will also be a big factor in the club's success (thanks Tony and Jim). PLEASE try to be attentive at the business portion of the meetings; it is only about 20 minutes and is very important for the club's continued success. It really is for your benefit.

I hope everyone has a great holiday season and I'll miss you all at the holiday party in December. Please keep in touch, either through this forum or personally. My contact info is listed below. If anyone finds their way to Dallas or wants to come visit, my door is always open. Hope to see you all again soon.

Gonna miss you Larry. I think your guidance has made the club what it is today. Stay in touch. Hopefully we'll see you at NHC.

Jesus must have been a yeast. Who else could turn water into wine?

Larry, it was an honor serving with you to lead this surly group of brewers. I think we have a great core group with many talents both with beer and beyond that will continue to be pivotal to the success of the brew group.

The group has made strides with your help and others, as I can recall many years ago the organization and excitement…even the beer wasn’t present. Its great to see the group work together and still have fun. Its truly a club to be proud of.

I’m looking forward to keeping in contact with you and your next club you join as many great ideas stem from clubs exchanging tactics and tips.

I’m sure the next club will treat you well, after all isn’t everything BIGGER in Texas?

Cheers!

I would like to say good-bye to the man who got me in to brewing back in 2002. He showed me how to make great beer doing extract with grain in his garage. It wasn't long after that we jumped in to all-grain and eventually an all-grain indoor brewery in my basement. We have shared many fantastic beers and numerous brew sessions. Even won the Thirsty Classic in 2004 with the first and second best of show.

I will miss brewing with you Larry and hope to visit Slappy Brewing South in the near future. Be nice to the gorillas.
