Well, the 15th did not work out either, so.....
*************************************
Greetings All, it's time for the Fourth Annual Cedar Rapids
and Iowa City homebrew clubs get-together!
You are all invited to our house in Troy Mills on Saturday,
July 22nd, from about 4:00 PM till ???
(CR-Brew Folks, we will be having the Club Competition
(Wheat Beers, right?), so plan to arrive around 2:00 PM)
This is a potluck event.
Since the Cedar Rapids group is coming early, please bring a
snack, or appetizer type dish.
Then the Iowa City folks could please bring a main dish or
dessert to share.
And, of course, bring your homebrew, or your
favorite commercial beer, cider, mead, etc.
We will provide brats, chicken and drinks, and serve dinner
around 5:00 PM.
We have a pool, so bring your swim wear. (Children are
always welcome!)
Please let me know if you plan to attend, so we can make
sure to have enough brats, etc!
**************************************************************
Directions:
Take Interstate 380 north out of Cedar Rapids.
Take the Toddville Exit exit #28.
At the exit, turn right (East) onto County Home Rd (#E-34), go about 0.5 miles to the stop light.
Turn left (North) onto North Center Point Rd (#W6E), go
through Midway, then 0.5 mile further.
Turn right (East) onto Alice Road (#W-45), it will
immediately curve left & go North for about 5 miles.
At the stop sign, turn right (East) onto Central City Rd
(still #W-45), go about 1 mile.
Turn left (North) onto Troy Mills Rd (still #W-45), go about
6 miles to Troy Mills.
Continue straight through Troy Mills, at the north end of
town, the paved road (#W-45) curves right, but instead, turn
left (West) onto Linn Buchanan Rd (gravel road). Go about
0.25 miles, we are the first house on the left, tan colored,
with a hedge in front.
3296 Linn Buchanan Rd.
Our landline phone # is 319-224-3675(it will probably be
busy, the kids are on-line very often!) ,my cell # is
319-329-9971, and Katy's is 319-929-5199, in case you get
lost.
If you are coming North on Highway #13, or coming through
Alburnett, or North on "C" Avenue & need directions, let me
know.
Hope to see you all there!

Pete,
Are we having the wheat competition the same day as the picnic and not having a July meeting on the 20th?
As of now I plan on attending as long as there are no conflicts with work.

Bob, yes the competition is the day of the picnic, and we are not having a seperate July meeting, as far as I remember from the June meeting.
Hope to see you there!

I am going to be in Minneapolis next Thurs/Fri July 20th and 21st, which will definitely include a trip to Northern Brewer. Anybody need something from there that is hard to ship?
Pete - I will be there for the beer meeting. I have a wheat beer, but can't make it in time for the competition. I will just bring a main dish or desert. See you then.

Thanks to all who have replied, looking forward to seeing as many as possible at our house this Saturday.
And, for new members, and/or Lurkers, (those of you in, oh, say, Urbana, or Mt Vernon, or elsewhere), please feel free to attend, this will -not- be formal, just a relaxing afternoon, with lots of fermented malt beverages!

Pete-
Thanks for a great time and for pulling both brew groups together - it was great to meet so many new people. We really appreciated all the work involved on your end for such a gathering.

I really wish I could have attended. Instead, I was drinking Old Style Light at a family reunion.
