Smokers

Post by exdevildogcpl »

This message is especially directed towards Mark and Brian (or anyone else who smokes ribs, etc.). Could you give me the name of the type of smoker you use with a possible link to their website?

Maybe next time we can have a rib contest and just drink homebrew!!

Thanks,

Bob

Not a problem. I have a Large Big Green Egg. It is kind of expensive to start out with. I think Mark's smoker is more reasonable and probably just as good if not better. You can smoke more with his smoker.

Bob-
I have a pair of Weber Smokey Mountains. They are what are considered vertical water smokers, sometimes called a 'bullet'. You don't see them in stores often, but Ace Hardware in Marion out by the Fareway has them in stock on the floor (as well as the very pricy Green Egg$$ ). There are 2 18" racks on over the other with a water pan below the lowest rack. I've been able to cook at 240 for 20+ hours on one load of charcoal. No offense to anyone, but I recommend staying away from the Brinkman.

Forgot the weblink. This is the site I use most - it is an independent site not affiliated with Weber. It has great product info, a forum, cooking topics and equipment shopping.
