This is a poll to determine which week we want to use for Beer Camp in 2010. I have posted three options. There are of course pros and cons to each. I have listed the dates, average monthly temperature (F), monthly precipitation, and comments for each to aid you in your decision making.

July 30-31; 85H to 63L; 4.06"
August 20-21; 83H to 61L; 4.23"; Weekend after Great Taste of the Midwest and weekend before Brew-B-Q
September 17-19; 75H to 52L; 3.27"; couple weeks after Labor Day

It looks like we are leaning towards Pinicon Ridge and make this as big an event as possible. I think we should open an invitation to other local clubs like CRAZY, THIRSTY, or others. People should also feel free to come and go as they please and bring friends/family. As noted, children are at your discretion but not encouraged. There may be some adult language and the law would probably prefer no minors in the area. If you aren't spending the night, you need a sober driver. Camping is encouraged.

There is an $8 reservation fee which I think the club could cover. The only other fee is $13 per camping unit. Maybe this could be supplemented for Beer Nuts members, just a thought. Camping unit can be about any size. You can park cars at the camp site. Group sites #7 and #6 (another good one) have availability these dates.

Feel free to comment and let me know if you strongly oppose these dates for any reason. It is a busy summer for beer events and families and we won't be able to accommodate everyone, but we will do our best to meet as many needs as possible and within reason.

FYI - Just found out the Iowa City Brew Fest is going to be on Saturday, September 18. Let me know if this would be a major problem for anyone as Septemeber is currently in the lead. I have not been going the past few years because the only brewers there are the one's we already see locally and it is mostly distributors and sales reps with beer I have had already and is readily available at local stores.

Not that it matters, but GABF is the weekend of the September 18th.

I think we should scratch this as a possible date, GABF is a big event that many in the club like to attend if at all possible. Also I agree with what you said about the Iowa City Brew Festivial and their beer selection. However, we should reschedule due to that alone as we should support local beer events by not scheduling club events that overlap (if at all possible).

I'll change my vote to the August 20-21 dates so we don't overlap with these other events.
