If I recall correctly, there was talk of having a group brewing session at Brian's for Teach a Friend to Homebrew Day. Brian mentioned at the last meeting (Sept) about everyone brewing the same recipe consisting of identical ingredients.
Brian, do you have the recipe for this event or will it just be a Brew-For-All? Just curious because I'm planning on ordering supplies this week (since it's perfect brewing weather).

Bob, the discussion was to brew a Pale Ale. We have a recipe in mind and I will post the recipe before this weekend. It is a recipe we have some awards with in the past. It basically a Sierra Nevada Celebration clone. The plan was to have several people bring their systems to my house and brew the same recipe to see how the various systems produce different beers.
Items to note, we use our tap water and usually you gypsum to harden the water for out Pale Ale so you will need that as well as irish Moss.
The only problems we might have is for the wort chiller. I need to know how you cool your wort so we can plan accordingly.
People planning on bring over their systems
Dave and I will be brewing on our system
Matt and Larry will be brewing on their system
Adam was going to bring over his system
Not sure who else was planning on doing the same.
I have a three stall garage so we should have plenty of room.

System brings far too much dignity to the collection of junk I use to make beer, but I’ll be bringing it along.
I use an immersion chiller, so I’ll need a garden hose to hook to and someplace to let the waste water drain away. Takes about 35-40 minutes when I brew a 10 gallon batch.
How big is the beer we’re going to make? If it’s about 1.050 or less I can brew 10 gallons, if it’s more than that I need to only do 5 as my mash tun can’t hold much more than 20lbs of grist.

Here is the recipe I was thinking of. I don't have the database in from of me so Dave will have to verify tomorrow. I believe Dave and have enough Crystal and Carapils we could sell everyone some at $0.38 lb.
Pale Ale recipe
OG 1.65-1.070
FG 1.014-1.016
24 lbs 2-row
1 lbs crystal 20L
1 lbs crystal 60L
2 lbs carapils
28lb grain bill
Hops
22AAU Chinook (60 min) (2 oz of 11%AA)
17.5AAU Cascade (30 min) (3.5 oz of 5%AA)
Dry hopping
1.32 oz Cascade
1.32 oz Centennial
60 Minute mash 156
dryhop for 5-7 days.
We typically use a White labs California Ale yeast. WLP001

Recipe Grist List
Brian,
Unfortunately, my system doesn't have the capacity to mash that much grain. I'm really pushing the limits when brewing over 10 lbs. for a five gallon batch (O.G.-1.060+). If there is no major objections, I could brew a smaller Pale or something else. Unless I have to work, I plan on attending. I also use an immersion chiller and can bring one hose to help out in the equipment area.
