Oktoberfest Yeast

Post by prieff »

I have about 1/2 gallon of Oktoberfest Wyeast slurry from a 10 gallon batch that I was going reuse but have decided against. Free to anyone that wants to come get it. Bring your own jug. It has been at 34F since July 23rd. I am in Fairfax. Also wondered how to join the group and if I can donate a keg for the Amana's beer fest in Sept.

We'd love to have you join the group. The next club meeting will be on August 19th, so watch the forum for the post for that meeting. You can sign up and pay dues (pro rated) then. We can set you up for access to the Members Only section of the forum, too.

I am about to post for the Iowa Festival of Beer, so check out the Upcoming Events area for details.

Are you the Paul I always run in to at Third Base? I don't need the yeast at the moment but keep up the posts. I may take you up on that offer some time. Hope to see you at a meeting some time and Beer Camp is coming up on Saturday, August 21.

No, I don't get to Third Base much. Other side of town for me. Talked to you guys at Amana last year. I am about 60 batches in, only do extract/grains. I have 15 gallons of Oktoberfest in the Keezer conditioning. I do large batches in a converted sanke with propane. Going to GABF in Sept. I work 2nd shift so I don't know if I can make it to a meeting.... :(

Thought I would offer up the yeast instead of ditching it. It is sterile and resting for the time being. I am doing a triple batch of Helles, Kolsch, and Irish Draught each for my Oktoberfest party....

Cheers.

Paul, we would love to have you down to the meeting, but understand your schedule conflict. We do have other events, and of course many of us meet up beyond the meeting. So hopefully you can catch up with the group in several ways.
