Lee, where did you get your cider from, or planning on getting it from?

I am pressing it myself.

The apples are from a friend's farm out on Otis Rd. By this time next year, that should be my farm (assuming I can find someone to buy my house) and I'll have tons of apples for cider. If it all works out (and I can get clearance from the wife), I was thinking of having a cider-making party next year where everyone brings a carboy that wants some. I have no idea what else I'm going to do with the apples from 75+ trees.

No, it's not that one, but it is on Otis Rd, SE. These guys used to have a commercial you-pick orchard, but I don't know what the name was.

Speaking of which -- if anyone knows someone that is looking to buy a house sometime in the next 6-9 months and puts me in touch with them, then you will become my new best friend. That and I'll give you free apples for life.

If you sell it yourself, aka no realtor, I know a good attorney that can handle the closing legal stuff.

Matt - Thanks for the offer. Can you IM me with the reference?

Regardless of what I do with my house, I'm not going through a realtor to buy the new house/orchard and will need an attorney.

So do I, I’ve bought and sold houses privately… it’s the way to go. Then you actually get to meet the owners and to know all the quirks of the house.. I still ask questions years later on the house I live on now.

As the thread veers way off topic --
For selling, you'll need an attorney anyway to update the abstract. My take on it is that an extra hour or two for an attorney is way cheaper than a realtor. I sold a house FSBO ~5 years ago, and would definitely go that way again, if I had a spare house to sell.

That cider pressing party sounds like great fun. Hope it goes through for you.
