On the "about" page it says "Discount bulk grain purchase bi-annually". Are we really doing it bi-annually? I think it only ends up being once a year. Another benefit is the iron-on patch, identifying you as one of the cool kids. Also, the opportunity to serve your beer at beer fests.

I also found a couple typos. On the first line, it should be "enthusiasts" plural, and "smaller" got misspelled as "samller".

Thanks, I'll update those, they were a copy and paste from the existing about page so they should probably be fixed there too.

Sorry Dave, I didn’t look into the coding, but there appears to by some dynamic picture content that is showing a loading image rather than the image. Unless you got something cool there, might be easy to just have an image, or you can set up an image to randomly load each time the page is refreshed. Then again I’m a drupal guy, not word press.

That’s good to know Jim, just wouldn’t want to loose all those years of great knowledge spewed out during working hours that we captured on the forum.

And yes I think we had good intent to do a BI-annual grain purchase but its hard to herd the cats… haha.

How is the wordpress going to be updated, is there an admin(s), is it open up to users so we all can post whatever pictures/calendar content we want… I can only image the photos that will ensue… J

I guess that'd be up to the cabinet or whoever. It doesn't matter to me. We can restrict who can do what with the roles in the back end.

I'm guessing the slider not loading on the home page is due to IE's shit javascript engine.

Dave, can't you use that cool JS tool that you posted about on facebook?

I just verified that old versions of IE definitely choke on the image changer thing.  In fact, if you turn "compatibility mode" on in IE 9, it breaks too.

T,

I believe the secretary volunteered to do most of the updating. (Thanks, Kent!)

I've verified that the "news slider" doesn't work with IE 7. I've added a "you should really think about updating your browser" nag to the site, for users with woefully outdated browsers. I'm looking into making the slider not show up for those people, but don't hold your breath.

For people at the "high tech company" as Tom T put it, you're allowed to upgrade to IE8. I'm sure there's a stupid reason why they haven't rolled it out, but they don't mind if you install it.

Unless I hear some big complaints, I'll be publishing the new site in the next day or two, regardless of IE7 problems (which only affect the one spot).

You should just make it redirect every IE user to firefox or chrome's download page...

Just make sure I can get to the forum while still having IE7. My company is a dinosaur with technology. We have IE7 and are supposed to be getting IE8 soon, but soon here can take a long time. I don't check the site near as much from home. I can't install anything on my work computer. No admin rights to do much of anything. Glad Promash can run off my external hard drive.

IE7 will work fine. You just won't see the news slider.
And once a week, it will nag you. ;)

I updated the site so the slider doesn't show in IE 6 or 7.
