Speaking of which, feel free to bring your families along. If you have little kids, make sure thy wear tennis shoes or similar footwear. We have thistle and stinging nettle in the orchard and it can ruin a little kid's day to step on either with sandals.

Turns out my crusher/press is unavailable this Saturday. I will still be there to pick apples.

Sorry to back out with press.

Couple of things.

1. I've decided to move the start time up to 2 pm.

2. I can confirm Rick's crusher is alive and well. It's been rewired and tweaked, but still purrs like a kitten. Gone, however, is the excitement of the shorting bar switch.

3. Feel free to bring beer. I have cups.

4. Feel free to bring food to grill. I have plates, napkins, etc.

I'm sorry Lee, I won't be able to make it until after six, and this seems to be too late.

That shouldn't be too late at all.  I'm expecting it to take us at least 6-7 hrs to pick and press today.  If you get here by 6:30, you will have at least 1.5 hrs of daylight, which should be more than enough to pick a couple bushels of apples.

I collected 9 gallons. I'm only fermenting 5 though. I'm freezing some for back sweetening and drinking the rest raw.
