The presentation was really sick! Infected even.
Seriously, though, Steven put together tons of great info. I'll be studying his slides for a while as there was too much info to try and cram into the time we had. Thanks also to Lee for setting this up.

Lots of great information in this. I wish I had paid closer attention; I thought the tech meeting was tonight...

OK, so I guess I wasn't specific enough in my request for details. I was asking about the restaurant, not the tech meeting itslef, which I knew would be killer!
So, is it really a "gastro pub" or just another sports bar?

They have a serious identity conflict that may well prove their downfall. Interior decor/ambiance sucks. TV monitors everywhere with seating limited to bar tables. As said before, beer selection is not very interesting, and certainly no better than 90% of places in town. Food was OK, but not really memorable. They have a smoker and are doing things like smoked wings and ribs. The wings were a bit dry, but otherwise tasted good. They gave us a sample of the ribs (which was nice of them). Meat was OK, but the sauce was boring.
They need to decide what crowd they are going for. The name does not do them any favors. Many people will go there with expectations based on it and be really disappointed. If they want to stick to a nicer bar with better than average bar food, that is one thing. If I went there for the first time with my wife expecting good food, good beer, and ambiance, I'd be extremely disappointed. The interior of the place really destroys that. If they want it to be memorable they need to gut it and start over.

I mostly concur w/ Randy. The interior didn't offend me so much as the mediocre food and beer selection.

I agree with Randy and Tom. It's not there yet and may never get to where I'd find it a place I'd want to frequent.

Jim - One element missing from this meeting was a Sour Tasting. I'm guessing if you offered to host such a tasting, someone would be willing to go through the slide deck with you. Might even bring beers, too.
